Yesterday was a very hard day! Our 2 foster children returned home and it was one of the hardest things I have had to do. I am confident, however, that the 3 1/2 months they were with us will make a lifetime impact.
When they first came to our home, they had not heard the name of Jesus! They would not even repeat a prayer after me. After weeks of going to church with us and being in a Christian pre-school, they slowly began to make a change. Before they left, they were praying by themselves and thanking God for the many blessings they had come to realize came straight from Him and the 5 year old asked Jesus to come into his heart!
As heartbreaking as it was and as inconvenient as it is to have 6 children with 4 of them ages 5 and under, the grace that God provides to walk in simple obedience is more than sufficient to endure, and the payoff is eternal.
If you are interested in learning more about foster care, we are holding a training in January at Crosspointe Community Church in Gresham. It is well worth the investment!
